Bio
I am originally from a small community located in the south eastern region of Alabama. After graduating high school, I continued my academic and athletic career at Lurleen B. Wallace Community College, then continued my studies at Auburn University of Montgomery. After completing my internship, I was offered an English position, and this year will mark my 7th year teaching at Prattville High School. I have experience in teaching multiple grades at various levels as well as various elective classes. I am heavily involved in the athletics program at Prattville High School and am currently serving as the head cross country coach and head JV cheer coach.
When I am not shopping, you can find me exploring local trails in the river region with my dogs or curled up with a good book. I thoroughly enjoy traveling and rarely sit still, so I'm always looking for adventures or new projects to take on. I'm a Disney girl at heart, and my mornings do not begin until I have had my caramel iced coffee.
In my classroom, I work extremely hard to build lasting relationships with my students, while guiding and encouraging them to be the very best student they can be. My goal each year is to help my students gain confidence in themselves not only as a student, but as a young adult. I am very passionate about the literature I teach, and it makes my heart happy to see my students enthusiastic about reading and learning.
