Hello, and welcome to my PHS page. I am a graduate of the University of Alabama with a B.A. Degree in English with a minor in Spanish. I am entering my twenty-second year of teaching at Prattville High School. I teach many different classes depending on the school year. For the 2026/2027 school year, I will be teaching English 10 and ESL/ELL.
My greatest joy is to watch students experience that "light bulb" moment; where students recognize what they are learning, and why they are learning intersect with one another. I look forward to working with all of my students this year. This 2026/2027 school year is going to be the BEST!

Daily Schedule:
1st period - English 10
2nd period - English 10
3rd period - English 10
4th period - English 10
5th period - Teacher planning / meetings / no students
6th period - ESL/ELL
7th period - English 10
CLASS MATERIALS NEEDED:
* a willingness to learn
* Pen and/or pencils
* colored pencils
* highlighter pack (the standard yellow, pink, blue, green, & orange pack is fine)
* paper (can be loose leaf or notebook paper; college rule or standard rule is fine)
* pocket folder (to keep track of handouts; student color preference is fine)
* composition notebook
* a CHARGED Chromebook - I will use these sparingly throughout the year. Due to the rise in usage of AI amongst students, most writing assignments will be timed and in-class.
* Google Classroom will be utilized for any online assignments. Students will receive the code in class about the second week of school.
