BIO
I am a proud native of Mobile, Alabama-the birthplace of Mardi Gras-and have called Montgomery my home for over 25 years. As a passionate advocate for empowerment, I am a three-time HBCU graduate, holding an associate degree in sociology from S. D. Bishop State Junior College , as well as a bachelor's in sociology/social work and a master's in special education from Alabama State University. Go Hornets!
For nearly 30 years, I have served as a pillar of excellence at Prattville High School, working as a special education teacher, mentor, and role model to generations of students. My commitment to student growth and leadership inspired me to establish the H.E.E.L.S. organization (Helping Each & Every Lady Succeed) and the PHS Dance Team-two dynamic platforms dedicated to uplifting young voices and fostering creativity. Beyond the classroom, I am a devoted and proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
As a widow for 16 years, I have raised three accomplished adult children who reflect my strength and spirit. Whether mentoring, leading community initiatives, or dancing through life's challenges, I bring heart, hope and heritage to everything I do.
