Bio

Mr. William J. Taylor joins the faculty with a distinguished career in education and coaching, marking this as his 21st year in the classroom. A proud alumnus of the last graduating class of Grand Bay High School (1998), he went on to earn his degree from Troy (State) University (2003), where he was a four-year member of the renowned Sound of the South Marching Band as a baritone player.

Mr. Taylor holds dual certification in both sciences and history, with experience teaching Life Science, Physics, Physical Science, World History, Government, and Geography.

This year marks the start of his 16th year as a wrestling coach and has 10th years as a middle school football coach. His coaching success includes three undefeated middle school football seasons (at Wetumpka Middle, Montevallo Middle, and Prattville Junior High). As a wrestling coach, he has mentored four state champions and 15 state placers. Most recently, he founded the Tallassee Girls' wrestling program, which impressively finished 5th in the state in its inaugural year. This past season at Prattville marked a significant year of growth for the Girls Wrestling program, highlighted by numerous successes throughout the season. The team recorded several top-five finishes at various tournaments, while one standout wrestler continued to build an impressive career record and is well on her way to reaching 100 career victories.
